Story
Captain David C. Wilcox
David was the beloved husband to his high school sweetheart, Lori, and a loving and proud father to Kara (Andre), Jen (Josh) and Matt (Taylor). He was a devoted grandpa “Timmy” to Emily, Evan and Rose, and would have been overjoyed to welcome newest grandchildren, Winston and Josephine.
Dave’s passion for firefighting led to a four-decade long career as both a volunteer and professional firefighter. He served with the Tottenham Volunteer F.D. and the Simcoe Rescue Squad, was a founding member and lieutenant with Adjala-Tosorontio and served as a training officer with Rosemont. In 1995, he joined North York F.D., achieving rank of captain and ARTI with Toronto Fire Service.
Dave was known for his heartly laugh, his love of dad jokes and good puns, and his motto to live by “If you’re going to do a job, do it right”.
In 2023, Dave passed away due to post-surgical complications associated with occupational cancer.
