Story
Joseph (Joe) Bonanno began his career with the City of York Fire Department (Toronto) on August 30, 1971, at age 21. He spent the majority of his service at Station 442 on A Platoon and retired from Toronto Fire Services Station 422 on May 31, 2007, after more than 35 years of dedicated service. He was a devoted firefighter.
He was a good husband, father and grandfather. He had many passions: movies, audiobooks/plays, art, reading, history, cats and politics. He had the values of loyalty, honesty and honour which he showed in both his work and family life. He was a vibrant member of the Maltese-Canadian diaspora. He was involved in many different organizations and clubs.
We miss him dearly. Thank you Joe for your service to Fire Services and to your family and friends.
