Anyone who knew Rob loved him for his integrity, his loyalty and of course, his resilience and strength.
Rob was born in February 1957 to Earl and Shirley Gifford in Sarnia but grew up in the town of Petrolia. He was hired by the city of Sarnia as a Sarnia Firefighter in 1985. Rob was passionate about being a firefighter, and despite a lengthy hospitalization in London, Ontario with a chronic and debilitating disease, he fought very hard to get back on the “trucks”. He met the love of his life, Patricia McAree in 2008 and they were married in 2010. Rob’s only daughter, Kaela Gifford was his pride and joy. A man couldn’t have been loved more by two women! Rob will always be remembered for his sense of humour, his love of family and of course, his ability to overcome and focus on the positives of his life.
