Neil was cherished by Vancouver Fire Rescue Services for over 20 years.
Known for his steady, calm demeanor, leadership, and timely sense of humor
The “Six Million Dollar Man’s” humble outlook opened the hearts and minds of his colleagues. He passed away after a courageous battle with occupational cancer, but his dedication and sacrifice leave a lasting impression on those lucky enough to have served with him. His death helped pass the Firefighters Health Act, making BC the first province in Canada to enact legislation that establishes new standards for early cancer screening for firefighters. Neil is fondly remembered by his loving wife Christina; his children Marra, Olivia, and Landen; and his stepsons Tyler and Jaden.
