Story
Michael McIntyre dedicated 25 years of service to the Gloucester Fire Department, rising to the rank of Platoon Chief and earning the respect of colleagues throughout the fire service. Known as a “friendly giant” and a gentle spirit, he led through example, demonstrating courage, humility, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. Beyond his firefighting career, Mike was deeply involved in his community, supporting charitable initiatives, volunteering his time, and opening his home with his wife, Julie, to 13 foster children. Whether serving his community, mentoring others, or lending a helping hand to those in need, he lived a life defined by compassion, responsibility, and service. Though he passed before meeting his grandson, his values, character, and legacy continue to live on through the generations that follow him. He is remembered with gratitude, respect, and love by all whose lives he touched.
