Story
Rob was born in December 1956 in Winnipeg. He joined the Winnipeg fire paramedic department in March 1982 and pursued all areas of firefighting including first response, dive rescue, investigation, and hazardous materials.
In April 2002, Rob achieved the rank of Fire Investigator. May 2004 he was appointed a special constable for the province of Manitoba as he served on the Arson Strike Force. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in March 2007, and then Captain in May 2009.
In retirement he continued as a volunteer firefighter for the Pellatt United Firefighters in Lac Lu, Ontario. In February 2024, Rob was awarded the Fire Services Exemplary Service Medal for 40 years of service to public safety. He passed away shortly after in October 2024 following a hard-fought battle with multiple myeloma.
