Kenneth Robertson Tebo
Chief
Story
Ken grew up in Warfield BC and attended J.L. Webster school, Trail Junior High and J.L. Crowe High School. His early years involved emergency services, forestry, travel and hockey (Trail Smoke Eaters 1965-66, Amstel Tijgers 1967-68). After receiving his pilot license from Selkirk College BC, he shifted to a career in firefighting. He moved to the lower mainland in the 1970’s where he met and married ‘the love of his life’ Brenda. In the 1980’s, Ken became the Fire Chief of Salmon Arm BC, where he served for 25 years and raised two sons. In 2019, Ken moved to Victoria BC to be near family. Predeceased by his father James, mother Blanche and brother Terry. Ken is survived by his wife of 50 years Brenda (nee Barry); sister Sandi; sons Jeff (married to Becky Viejou) and Brian (married to Chelsea); grandchildren Cohen, Clara and Casey; and many more beloved family members and friends.
In serious times, Ken was a stoic and wise counsellor – otherwise, a light-hearted mentor and friend. He is sorely missed by all who knew him.
