Dwight Douglas McMillan
Fire Chief
Story
Dwight Douglas McMillan
Dwight was born in August 1959. Dwight became a member of the Onanole fire department in 1982 and became the fire chief of the department in 1986. While volunteering as a fire chief he worked 30 years for Parks Canada. He was also proud to be president of his local union chapter. Dwight found it very rewarding and fulfilling to help his colleagues. Dwight prided himself on his ability as a home mechanic and handyman. He may not have always had the right parts or tools, but he always made it work. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Joanne, his daughter Cassandra, and twin boys Douglas and Charles, and his mother Bernice. His legacy continues on not only in the hearts and minds of his family but also the community which he loved and touched.
