Story

In both his personal and professional life, Craig was the silent protector, the person everyone turned to for counsel, and the one everyone knew was steadfastly in their corner. He was selfless, loyal, and dependable.

While his actions as a firefighter with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department and as a Captain in the Canadian Armed Forces often showed his heroic strength, it was the many quiet acts he did for some of our most vulnerable that showed Craig’s strength of character. He used his sphere of influence to stand up for those who could not do for themselves, or who didn’t think they could. At work and in life, he was a mentor, a leader, and a provider.

Craig was a lifelong learner, always seeking higher education to better himself personally and professionally, and to help him guide others in their careers. Craig was modest about his academic achievements: a graduate of Columbia Southern University with a Bachelor of Fire Science, a graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada with a Master of Public Administration, and countless courses and certifications related to his fire and military careers.

While he was a proud member of the uniform services, Craig's greatest joy was his family. He was a doting father to Caden and Sienna and a loving husband to his wife, Neala. Craig believed that family wasn't an important thing, it was everything.
