Local firefighters joined staff and customers at the East Side Mario's Argentia location for an evening in support of the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation on April 27. The Argentia Rd. restaurant donated part of its food sales to the charitable organization, which is comprised of members of the Canadian Fire Service and others dedicated to honouring fallen firefighters and supporting their families. Mississauga firefighters were helping to serve at the event and provide families with fire safety information. They also give a tour of a fire truck.

The $4700 raised goes toward memorial services held each September to honour fallen firefighters. Proceeds also help support families of fallen firefighters by creating post-secondary scholarships and bursaries.
