2013 Tournament Recap (West)

The 5th Annual Canadian Fallen Firefighters Memorial Golf Tournament took place once again at Arbutus Ridge Golf Course just north of Victoria, BC.  Thanks go out to Richard Ingle and all the staff that helped make this another successful event.  This year saw a slightly lower turn out than in past years but was just as successful raising close to $10,000 for the CFFF this year due to the great support from all the hole sponsors and the generous bidding during the silent auction..

We were very pleased to have Countryside RV from Duncan. BC offer a $10,000 Hole In One prize towards the purchase on any new RV, of which several models were on display at various holes throughout the day..  Several players came close but no one walked away with the Hole in One Prize at this year’s tournament. Better luck next year everyone!

This year’s tournament was followed once again by a fantastic buffet dinner put on by Arbutus Ridge Golf Course along with the silent auction and prize and awards.  This year’s most popular silent auction items included a number of NHL and Team Canada hockey Jersey’s donated by Duncan Firefighter Wes Elvins. We also had a a $1000 Training Certificate for the Comox Fire Training Center from long time CFFF supporter Comox Fire Chief Gord Schriener. Once again, the guys from Comox not only supplied a great silent auction item but made some generous bids to take home a few items as well!

The prize draw of a Helmet Cam donated by Troy Mutch at Firefox Fire Solutions was won by Tracy Schek.  Congratulations to Matt Campbell, Rick Ptolemy and team for winning the 5th Annual CFFF Memorial Golf Tournament. Matt Campbell also walked away with the trophy for Men’s Closest to the Pin!
